Uploading
your pictures to our FTP server
Browser: The address to the FTP server is: ftp://mfp.servepics.com if you are using your
browser. Make sure passive ftp
is turned OFF
in your options. If you are using internet Explorer, go into tools,
internet options, advanced, 3rd from the bottom of the browsing list,
turn off passive ftp. FTP Program: I recommend you use an FTP program. Click
this link to download FileZilla. This program is FREE and SAFE to download
and install. http://www.yboreye.com/myfavoritepicture/FileZilla_2_2_13a_setup.exe When the
program comes up on the screen you can enter mfp.servepics.com for
the server address. Enter your user name and password
then connect. Once Logged In: 1> Create
a folder on the server like this example: ANIMALS 2> Create
another folder inside ANIMALS based on the date the pictures were taken
like this example: Example:
When you
log into the server you will see an example you can follow. Put
a new LOGO for each category. Don’t forget to put a picture of yourself
or logo in the root folder for your main picture page logo as well.
Once you
have practice, you can have everything organized prior to logging into
the server, and then you can transfer the whole folder or batch over
at once. If a transfer stops before it's finished, you can use the resume
option. You can not delete anything on our server, only put things there.
So if something goes wrong, don’t panic, just make another folder like
09-13-05a , 09-13-05b, and so on. I will clean it up later. E-Mail Us:
After you upload your pictures, send e-mail so we know you have new
pictures waiting on the server. rick@yboreye.com Advertising Your Page: It’s up to you to advertise your picture
page. It is recommended that you hand out business cards when you take
the pictures so that people can find them on your page. Example:
What To Post: If you take pictures of a bear, I doubt the
bear will order any of them. Therefore, we encourage people to
submit pictures of interest to potential buyers. You are welcome
to submit whatever pictures you like as long as there is no nudity or
profanity. |
